Firstly, since there is little in the way of distinction between animals, vermin, magical beasts, and, yes, elementals... I consider them for purposes of this campaign to be one type: animals. For purposes of bane/favored enemies, how much difference is there between a run-of-the-mill baboon and a baboon that shoots fire out of its bum? Elementals are simply the animals of the elemental planes.

Dogs

Halflings use dogs for labor and as mounts. Halfling cavalry ride them into battle.

Humans and dwarves often keep dogs as pets or train them for tasks such as hunting.

Cats

Many people the world over keep cats as pets. In the tiger clan lands, cats are considered sacred, whereas the viper clan sees them as demonic.

Horses

Humans use horses for work, war, and travel. Dwarves use ponys.

Giant Eagles

Often befriended, not tamed, by elves and used as mounts.

Giant Owls

A reasonably common choice for mounts by gnomes.

Gryphons

Commonly used as mounts by dwarves.

Hippogryphs

Commonly used as mounts by elves.

Elephants

Found only in the east, inhabiting the central plains and southern shore region. They are sometimes killed for their ivory.

Camels

Used in the desert north of Tespus and in Viper Clan lands.

Pigs

Halflings use pigs for labor much in the same way as humans use oxen.

The larger races only use them primarily for food. They are a staple of orcish diet. It is a little known fact that orcish pork tastes the best.

Poultry

Used by many races for their meat, feathers, and eggs.

Cattle

Raised by humans and ungiants for labor, milk, and meat.

Goats

Halflings raise goats, sometimes using them for labor.

Sheep

Sheep are commonly raised by humans and ungiants, and are used for their wool and for food.

Llamas

Used in the Bear Clan territory as beasts of burden and for fiber production and meat.

Bison

A common animal domesticated by ungiants for their meat and leather.

Yaks

Raised by the Bear clan for mounts, labor, meat, fiber, and milk.

Donkeys

Often raised by gnomes and halflings for a variety of uses, including as mounts, labor, and for meat and milk.

Deer

Hunted by many races for venison, leather, and antlers.

Rabbits

Hunted and raised by many races for their meat and pelts.

Reindeer

Hunted by the southern barbarian tribes for their meat, leather, and antlers. Sometimes they are tamed and used for labor and milk.

Crocodiles

Common in the northern wetlands in the west. Often trained as guards by lizardfolk, but are also used for meat.

Fish

All races and cultures fish. They are a staple of eastern diet.

Bees

Raised by humans and gnomes for honey. Gnomes invented the bee-keepers outfit and bee smoker.

Crabs

People in settlements along the western coast of Anherosh, especially in the Tortoise clan, hunt crabs for their meat and shells.

Tortoises/Sea Turtles

Kept by the gnomes of Anherosh as pets.

Silkworms

Used primarily in the east in the production of silk.

Spiders

Some underground or deep forest cultures raise giant spiders for their silk and venom, and sometimes for use as mounts.

Ants

The Dolphin and Viper clans are known to eat larger ants. The Viper clan also harvests their venom.

Giant Bees

Holy shit! It's a bee the size of a f***ing doberman! How can the ecosystem even support such a thing!? Their hives would be the size of a mountain! They'd produce like 40 metric tons of honey per day and require a buttload of pollen and nectar, which I can only assume they'd get from giant flowers. As cool as I can see some of this that being, I just don't think it works well for Heroshi, so... no giant swarming insects. Yes, Will, no giant ants.

/sigh of relief.

I'd hate to have to use my god persona to travel to the Allies and enlist the Cougarians in exchange for territory.
