Devils are spawned from Kal'Nuega, the source of pure evil, and are bent toward the pursuit of conquest. They believe themselves to be superior to all other races. Their goal is to establish absolute control over the material plane, no matter the cost of lives or freedom. Ranging in form from the mindless Lemures to the tyranical Pit Fiends, devils have a strict hierarchy. The higher castes of devils rule with authority backed up with force. Though they have no scruples against quashing any real threats to their power, they prefer to discipline upstarts rather than eliminate them. Devils do not oppose legitimate authority within their ranks. However, they do seek to attain greater power for themselves, which they persue through the proper channels.

When devils are killed, they melt into a pool of pure evil which quickly returns to Kal'Nuega.
