A high altitude region of central Heroshi's western hemisphere. It stretches across the continent from the western ocean to the curve of the Selene sea. It is named for the fact that it served for hundreds of years as the location of many metallic dragons lairs. The good dragons who inhabited it prevented monsters from the south from venturing into civilized lands in the north, and conversely kept mankind from straying into the forbidden lands. In recent history the lairs have been abandoned and humans have moved in. The highlands are currently part of the nation of Morbidia.
