The first giants arose from the Heroshim as little more than large humans. Early in Heroshi's history, the giants gathered together in one great city in the mountains (its location is now lost) called Myrdunhiem (mar*done*hime). This city was one of history's greatest achievements but was yet a catastrophic failure. It was discovered that having so many people of their scale together wreaked havok on their ecosystem. Their farmlands, woodlands, and fishing areas all came up dry within only a few years. This motivated the giants to form tribes and spread out so that they did not so quickly exaust their natural resources. Other races called them Myrdun Giants, but this was eventually shortened colloquially to Ungiant.

When Ameadaeus ascended, his ungiant followers became ogre magi, fire & ice giants, as well as the forebears of trolls, hill giants, ettins and ogres. After the great war between celestials and fiends, many fire and ice giants ventured to either Nuegalon, an elemental plane, or the poles of Heroshi. The great fire giant city at the north pole is called Myrsfell (mars*fell). The city of frost giants, Khrimhiem, and is built along the wall of ice, part of it spanning the Rimefell.

Some tribes became Storm, Earth, Jungle, Desert, and Cloud giants based on their environment and faith. Aleria, Feal, and Vilhan gave them special powers as they did the elves, gnomes, and dwarves.
