Deep elves are the elves of the underworld. They have pale bluish skin and dull hair, usually completely white or completely black.
They cultivate mushroom forests where fungi will grow as large as trees. They use the mushrooms for their toxic, medicinal, and psychoactive properties.
Deep elves keep spiders as pets and livestock.
- +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, –2 Constitution
- Base land speed is 30 feet.
- Immunity to sleep spells and effects, and a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells or effects. (Not reflected in the saving throw modifiers given here.)
- Spell-Like Abilities: Nether elves can use the following spell-like abilities once per day: dancing lights, darkness, faerie fire. Caster level equals the nether elf’s HD.
- +2 racial bonus on Perception checks involving sight, hearing, and touch. A nether elf who merely passes within 5 feet of a secret or concealed door is entitled to a Perception check to notice it as if she were actively looking for it.
- Automatic Languages: Common, Elven, Netherspeak. Bonus Languages: Abyssal, Aquan, Draconic, Gnome, Goblin.
- Light Blindness: Abrupt exposure to bright light (such as sunlight or a daylight spell) blinds nether elves for 1 round.
- Favored Class: Fighter or Wizard
