You probrably remember Kobort of Selene and perhaps you recall Alrunia, Princess of Selene (betrothed to Keld, got abducted and replaced by a doppelganger - oh... you guys never found out about that did you?). Other than these two vague references, Selene has never been a big part of the campaign. With its hodgepodge terrain and relative isolation from the mainland (think Vvardenfell to Morrowind) it would make a prime testing ground for an all new campaign. Don't get excited though. I see a new campaign being a long way off. But if you just can't wait for more details... scroll down.
