The senexti, also known as the "elder folk", "shadow tribe" or "old ones", are a mysterious race of humanoids that inhabit the plane of shadow. On their own plane they wear black robes over their sleek, white bodies. They have no facial features save for a glowing, tattoo-like glyph. This glyph can be used to distinguish between senexti, although this often prooves difficult for denizens of the material plane. On the material plane, their skin resembles obsidian and their robes become transparent, giving them a smoky appearance. Their bodies are segmented, as if composed of spheroids and cylinders.

Their possessions appear either crystaline or composed of melted wax. They are fabricated from the resins they naturally produce. Under the senexti's face is a hollow that generates one resin and another is produced from the hands. The senexti communicate by mixing and forming these resins. They may also be projected short distances for defensive purposes. Senexti can control the rate that their resins harden, so they can project either solid slugs or mucilaginous blobs.
