Talonia was a nation recently destroyed by the God Smite, an explosion of epic proportions that originated from Dengar Citadel. The explosion was centered on Castle Magnus, owned by Zanzer Tem IV. The planted demi-essence of the Node of Space designated it the target when the God Smite was activated.

The region, previously ruled by Solanthus' City state, Neyrleth, was usurped by a more ambitious lord. Walgnaf Talondar seized power over the region after a campaign in the name of Solanthia. He murdered the steward of Neyrleth and declared the lands he'd conquered as his own. He appointed his liutenants to positions of power and their subordinates became Earls and Barons. Talondar's forces made a stand against the influx of wild elves and orcs coming from the north, considering them a threat and using their acting in self defense to incriminate them in the eyes of the people.

Under the influence of his chancellor, Talondar recruited foreign mercenaries from the Viper and Wolf clans. The viper clan weakened Morbidia's borders through assasination and getting soldiers and town guards hooked on opium. The wolf clansmen then took parts of the Drake Highlands by force.

Through alliances with devils, Chancellor Rhumitar Kransten orchestrated a plot to abduct the high priests of Morbidia. The essences of the high priests were used to grant Rhumitar near-godlike power and invulnerability. Rhumitar killed Walgnaf Talondar and seized power over Talonia and the captured Drake Highlands. 

After the God Smite, the entirety of Talonia was destroyed and Rhumitar's invulnerability was cancelled, allowing the Heroes of Morbidia to slay him.

Inspiration: I chose this name because it sounds oppressive... like being in the talons of a raptor. Turns out that "lex talionis" is latin for the concept of "eye-for-an-eye".
