This barrier resulted from the Sundering. When the planet divided, the hot vapors from below rushed upward and created what resembled a wall of upward rushing water that reached the heavens. It extended from Nuegalon to Erhad. No means of travel could bypass it, any attempt at that resulted in the fools being launched more than a hundred feet skyward before a quick plunge into the sea.

The wall has recently fallen for unknown reasons. The only place where it remains is frozen in the south pole.

It is mentioned in the Teslan Prophecy:

"The wall of water will be pierced as snipers bolt from the shadows, and beyond it will the wandering isle be found."

This was fulfilled by Lemnolin Shadowsnipe when he sought the temple of the creators which was on the back of a giant turtle submerged near the wall."
